Accessories

Frequently asked questions

What kinds of accessories does The Rareté carry?

Our accessories category holds whatever archival belts, hardware, and finishing pieces surface through our sourcing at a given time, such as a Valentino FW2002 braided gold flower belt. It isn't a fixed assortment across categories like bags or jewelry; what's available reflects individual one-of-a-kind finds rather than ongoing stock.

Do you regularly stock handbags, jewelry, or scarves?

Not on a predictable basis. Because every accessory we list is a single archival find rather than a manufactured product, categories like bags, jewelry, and scarves appear only when a specific piece surfaces through sourcing, not as a standing part of the collection.

How can I find out about new accessories before they're listed elsewhere?

Our First Look collection is where recently authenticated pieces, including accessories, tend to appear first. Checking back there periodically, or submitting a Sourcing Request for a specific item, are the best ways to hear about new finds as they're added.

How do you verify an accessory like a designer belt is authentic?

Each piece goes through our internal authentication process before it's listed, drawing on construction details, hardware, and materials specific to the house and era. Our guide on how to authenticate vintage designer clothing walks through the general approach we use across categories.

What happens to an accessory once it sells?

Once an accessory sells, it moves to our Sold Archive, where it remains visible as a record of past finds rather than staying listed for purchase. Because these are one-of-a-kind pieces, a similar item may or may not surface again through future sourcing.
